Chimney Swifts in Athens, Georgia

As dusk unleashes
the ebony bones of night,
sleek chimney swifts
slide home to roost,

chittering gusts of
black confetti, they flutter,
falling, into the sleeping

stacks of the red
brick mill, that
fed our town.
